Within the framework of the International Congress of Architecture and Urbanism (CIAU), four tours have been planned through different areas of the city and the university, according to the thematic areas of the congress, so that everyone can choose them according to their particular interest.

The tours will be held three times, simultaneously, so that there is the possibility of participating in at least three of the four organized, depending on the availability of space.

The tours are:

Architecture: A tour of the historic center of Santo Domingo, declared a cultural heritage of humanity by UNESCO, houses the most important architectural collection of the Dominican Republic.

Urban and Territorial Planning: this tour will visit the modern and contemporary part of the city, seeing some of the buildings from those periods, as well as urban development.

Environment and Sustainability: this tour will visit the most important parks, true lungs, which contribute to the quality of the city’s air, including the Botanical Garden and Los Tres Ojos.

Schedule:

On the mornings of October 22 and 23, the tours will start at 9:00 AM and run until 12:00 PM. On the afternoon of the 22nd, the tour will start at 2:00 PM and run until 5:00 PM, simultaneously.

Recommendations to follow:

• Wear comfortable clothing and shoes.
• Use sunscreen and insect repellent.
• Stay in the assigned group.
• Notify the guide’s assistant of any emergency.
• Stay hydrated.
• Maintain cleanliness in the areas visited.
• If you must leave before the end of the tour for any reason, please notify the guide’s assistant.
